was created in 2005 in lieu of a retail shop. Originally designed to showcase our personalized embroidery, it has since evolved into a gift boutique. During its first year, our gift site took on a life of its own, and we expanded from just embroidered apparel and accessories, by adding Melissa and Doug Wooden Toys, Lil' Jo's Leather Shoes, Wishgarden Herbs Homeopathics and a gorgeous collection of play dresses. Since that time, we love to add other lines as they grab our fancy while continuing to provide the custom embroidery we have always enjoyed. In 2006 we added Usborne Books at Home, Bath and Body Bliss, Babylegs and My Precious Kids. In 2008 we dropped most of the embroidery (and will finish moving it over this year) and picked up Aura Cacia Organics and Frontier Natural Products. Look for lots more changes in 2009 as we change the focus here!

In the course of networking with other work at home moms, Brenda noticed a consistent problem many other micro businesses were running into: the difficulty of being limited to the most expensive options for packaging and business supplies and other necessary items to produce and ship products.  Because most small businesses can't buy in bulk quantities, the options are limited or just very expensive. To address this a bit,

was created. We currently stock packaging and labeling supplies, a smattering of jewelry creation supplies and some general business supplies. As the demand grows, we will build this site up further.

Working with small business owners may be the "bread and butter" of our business, but creating personalized gift items is definitely the "jam". We enjoy working on monogramming, personalized blankets and baby things and other small custom projects, but it's difficult from a non-retail location, so

was launched in 2007 for those handmade, more time consuming and just more off the wall items. Brenda stocks here often at random, so no telling what will be on the site any given week, that is the fun of the hyenacart world! ! 

Just in case all of these weren't quite enough to do, we dabble on occasion in direct sales. Usborne Books at Home is a wonderful company providing over 1,300 titles for infant to teenagers through a combination of direct sales, home shows, book fairs, fund raisers, grants and school and library sales. We love the books and the opportunity to go to a party every time we go to work with Usborne *grin*
